Sadly we said goodbye to two dear friends recently, Gizmo a lovable old retriever, always happy to see you and dear old Bertie the Yorkie, a little fella with a big heart – we will miss them both.

Saturday was our cats 1st Birthday,Toto is his name and our old boy Bodger was 16 last wednesday! doing well. Photo’s to follow.

Hi, welcome to our first blog!
We visited the festival on the lawns in old town last weekend for a glorious day in the sunshine. Along with many fellow dog owners we decided to try our luck in the dog show. Our poor old dog Bodger (winner of many a waggiest tail rossette in his youth) was not up to a day in the heat, so we placed all our hopes on our 5 year old lurcher-Frodo.We entered the aptly named “strugglers” in the obedience class(now to be renamed the “not a hope in hell class!). We were full of optimism.
We got of to a shaky start, with Frodo deciding that ‘heel’ meant anyone’s heels but mine and that he really couldn,t see the point of all that sitting and getting up again. I finally pinned my hopes on the recall, and in a fit of blind faith, went for the off-lead approach(and they say wisdom comes with age!).He sat dutifully by my side and with a final command of “stay” I strode confidently forward – three seconds later there was a tumultous “He’s behind you”. Keeping my poise and resisting the urge to shout “Oh no he is,nt” I tried again, throwing in my best smile to the judge(bad move at my age!) but alas our hopes of starring on Britains got Talent are forever dashed! Still Frodo found all the laughing at him highly exciting, and a great excuse to leap up and down all over me – if only people could be so chilled.
